2025 4th International Joint Conference on Civil and Marine Engineering was successfully held at the Qingdao Base!

The 4th International Joint Conference on Civil and Marine Engineering (JCCME 2025) was successfully held at the Qingdao Base from October 8 to 10, 2025. The conference was organized by Harbin Engineering University, and co-organized by the Qingdao Innovation and Development Base and College of Shipbuilding Engineering, Harbin Engineering University.

The conference also received support from several institutions, including the University of Lisbon, University of Indonesia, Ocean University of China, China University of Petroleum, International Joint Laboratory of Naval Architecture and Offshore Technology, International Joint Research Center of Ship and Ocean Engineering Mechanics, Sino-Russion Belt and Road Joint Laboratory on Polar Technology and Equipment, National Key Laboratory of Underwater Propulsion Technology, Journal of Marine Science and Application.

The conference focused on a wide range of cutting-edge fields such as port and coastal engineering, offshore engineering, fluid-structure interactions, intelligent maritime structures, maritime rescue and salvage technologies, ocean energy extraction, maritime sensor and sensing technologies, mechatronic components and systems under ocean or subsea environment, maritime related strategy and planning, and polar region technologies. This event brought together more than 200 experts, scholars, and industry representatives from 11 countries, including United Kingdom, Australia, Malaysia, Indonesia, Japan, and South Korea. The conference consists of a plenary meeting with 4 keynote speeches, and 4 symposia consisting of 100 oral presentations. 10 research findings were also showcased through posters.


On the morning of October 8th, the 4th International Joint Conference on Civil and Marine Engineering (JCCME 2025) was officially inaugurated. Professor Carlos Guedes Soares from the University of Lisbon, and Dean Baoyu Ni from the College of Shipbuilding Engineering delivered opening speeches. The opening ceremony was presided over by Professor Xueqian Zhou, Deputy Director of the Qingdao Base and a professor at the College of Shipbuilding Engineering.

During the keynote session of the conference, four distinguished experts and scholars delivered excellent speeches.

Prof. Chien Ming Wang, a Fellow of the Australian Academy of Technology and Engineering, from University of Queensland, delivered a keynote speech titled  “Blue Economy CRC Offshore Aquaculture Projects: SeaFisher and SubSCI”.


Prof. Decheng Wan from Shanghai Jiao Tong University delivered a keynote speech titled “Novel Numerical Techniques for Foam Flows around Marine Structures”.


Prof. Aman Zhang from Harbin Engineering University delivered a keynote speech titled “New Progress on Bubble Dynamics and Its Application”.

Prof. Erkan Oterkus from University of Strathclyde delivered a keynote speech titled “Peridynamics: Past, Present and Future.


The coference features 7 Parallel Sessions that cover 4 major topices, including Ocean Engineering Structures and HydrodynamicsMarine Renewable Energy and Advanced ShipTechnologies Intelligent Technology and Unmanned SystemApplicationsPolar Engineering and Marine EnvironmentalTechnology.


Awards of best paper and excellent papers were conferred at the conference.
