The Qingdao Innovation and Development Base of Harbin Engineering University (hereinafter referred to as“Qingdao Base”) isa bridgehead of our university to connect with the national strategy,a testing ground of our comprehensive reform,a pioneer of our high-quality development, andan innovation zone of the integrated development of our production, education, and urban development. It is gradually emerging as an important base for our university to engage A-list and creative talents from around the world.

The 2023“Xinghai Forum” - Qingdao Innovation and Development Base Parallel Session will be held both“online and offline”, with the aim of building a platform fortheexchange and cooperationamong talented young scholars at home and abroad. It will spotlight the international academic frontier, providing academic reports and in-depth seminars to expand your horizons. Also, it will drive interdisciplinary and academic innovation. It's our hope to engage a group of top international scientists and young leaders to join the Qingdao Base.

I.WhoWe Want to Invite

Talented young people who show great potential for change from around the world, who have obtained a doctoral degree from a reputable university at home or abroad or who are currently doctoral students, and who havesecured certain achievements in subjects and fields such as marine science, ships and oceans, mechanics,machinery, marine information, physics, optical engineering, materials and chemicals, power and energy, control science, computers, artificial intelligence, and robotics.

II. When and How to Sign Up

1.We're accepting entries from the date of the announcement.

2.Fill out theBasic Participant Information Form of the 2023“Xinghai Forum” - Qingdao Innovation and Development Base Parallel Session, Harbin Engineering University (see attachment) and send it to qdrs@hrbeu.edu.cn. Please mark in the subject of your email: Sign up for Xinghai Forum. And show your WeChat account in the attachment.

III. Schedule

The forum is scheduled to be held in early July 2023, taking a combination of both online and offline events. Any interested person may sign up for both the opening ceremony of the school and the QingdaoBase parallel session.

World-renowned scientists who have top-tier academic leadership and significant success in their fields of scientific research recognized by their peers both domestically and internationally. They thus have a proven ability to lead our subjects to catch up or maintain a leading edge internationally. Young leaders

Young and middle-aged scholars with strong academic influence who are among the top in their fields at home and abroad, leading the country or the world in their fields of study. Doctorate recipients overseas

Talented young people who have a doctorate degree from a high-level university overseas, have been involved in scientific research overseas for more than 3 years, and have some success or show great potential for change in their fields of study. Not more than 40 years old. Full or associate professorship on direct appointment for outstanding doctorate recipients.

Postdoctoral researcher

TheQingdao Base has a postdoctoral innovation and practice base of Shandong Province and provides joint postdoctoral incubation by leveraging on the postdoctoral station of Harbin Engineering University. We are looking for postdoctoral researchers who are capable of academic innovation, not more than 35 years old, and have obtained a doctoral degree within the last three years. Annual salary ofRMB400,000+ (including local policies) for postdoctoral researchers.
