The Test Site, along with the Extreme Ocean Omnidirectional Flow Field under construction and the surrounding available docks, ships, pools and other test pieces, constructs a relatively complete near-shallow-sea onshore/offshore joint test platform. The Test Site can carry out near-shallow-sea tests such as underwater unmanned systems and underwater information, taking into account the needs of modern ships and marine engineering equipment technology in actual sea tests. It has reached the leading level of domestic underwater near-shallow-sea mobile external measurement, positioning and tracking capabilities, and has formed an important platform for domestic unmanned and underwater information onshore/offshore joint tests. It has become an important base to support the rapid improvement of China's scientific and technological innovation capabilities, gather and cultivate talents, accelerate the interdisciplinary integrated development with the first-class disciplines of shipbuilding and oceanography engineering as the core, and lay a solid foundation for the construction of a national-level littoral test site characterized by unmanned equipment and underwater information. The Test Site covers a surface open modular duplex platform, an underwater open modular unmanned test platform, an integrated testing system for comprehensive performance in real sea areas, a sea surface target perception system, and an underwater target external measurement, positioning and tracking system. It helps to build an open modular water surface and underwater testing platform for real sea areas, establish test conditions such as sea surface target perception and underwater target external measurement, positioning and tracking, meet the basic requirements of unmanned systems and underwater information real sea experiments, and establish a complete platform for the land-sea intermodal commissioning and testing in offshore waters and shallow sea that resolves the last-kilometer problem in seaward experimentation, thus creating a comprehensive seaward testing system with the land and the sea complementing to each other’s advantages that promotes JMRH development.
