The Institute of Advanced Marine Materials focuses on new material applications in shipbuilding and oceanography engineering. Targeting at the demands for lightweight, multifunctional and stealth composite materials used in ocean engineering equipment and vessels, it works on the multifunctional structural design of composite materials, design and preparation and performance evaluation for special functional coating (anti-fouling, anti-corrosive, anti-cavitating, wave-absorbing, visible light stealth, etc.), high-performance resin/emulsion and lightweight multifunctional sandwich materials, and the scientific research and technological breakthroughs on the molding and engineering application technology for new multifunctional composite materials, and marine target characteristics and measurement. Closely aligned to major demands of the nation, the Institute provides strong technological support in terms of new materials to new generations of equipment in China.
