Professor Sergey Makarov from the Qingdao Base visited Qingdao Mingde School and delivered an engaging speech themed around “Curiosity.”

He began with the intriguing question, “What is the secret to genius invention?” and profoundly elaborated on the crucial role of curiosity as the core engine driving scientific exploration. He reviewed significant scientific breakthroughs in history that were born out of curiosity and shared his views on how curiosity can inspire fundamental questioning, drive fearless attempts, and ultimately lead humanity to expand the boundaries of knowledge. At the end of his speech, he passionately called out to young students: “Maintain curiosity, inspiration, and passion, do not fear mistakes, and explore the world!” He encouraged students to transform this valuable internal driving force into practical actions for knowledge-seeking and innovation. His insightful sharing sparked a warm response among the students and effectively deepened their understanding of the essence of scientific inquiry.
